Horses are a recurring theme in the work of Salvador Dalí, so we find horses in some of his great masterpieces such as "The Temptation of St. Anthony", "Saint James the Great" or "Project for the Backdrop of Mad Tristan", but also we find horses in many ink drawings that the painter gave to his friends and admirers.
In the early 1970s Dalí made a series of 25 paintings depicting some of the most famous horses in history, this series was named "Dalinian Horses".
